* UPDATED CABINET MEETING 9th OCTOBER * Proposed Closure of Everleigh HRC
The report on the proposal to close Everleigh Household Recycling Centre has been issued and going to Wiltshire Council Cabinet on 9th October. The report acknowledges the high level of public response which was overwhelmingly in favour of keeping Everleigh open.
The proposal to close Everleigh is despite this public opinion.
Pewsey Parish Council requests the public to lobby their Wiltshire Councillors to stop this from happening.
The report can be found HERE
Wiltshire Council has opened a consultation on the proposed closure of Everleigh Household Recycling Centre (HRC). The consultation survey and supporting evidence can be found HERE with the deadline for responses of 3rd September 2018.
The Parish Council would like to see as many local residents and users of the facility to complete the survey as soon as possible. Information that will be useful for you to use in order to complete the survey can be found HERE.
If the closure proceeds, the nearest HRC is Marlborough with other sites available at Devizes and Amesbury. Pewsey Parish Council has been fighting, with the help of the Pewsey Community Area Partnership and the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England (CPRE), for three years to ensure this highly used and important facility in this rural area, is kept open for the local community.
A protest will be taking place at 9.00am at Everleigh HRC on Tuesday 31st July.
Please encourage your relatives, friends and neighbours to complete the survey!
